2027 Lavender Law® Conference and Career Fair
Organized by the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association and Foundation, the Lavender Law® Conference and Career Fair is the largest LGBTQ+ legal conference in the United States, drawing over 2,000 attendees annually. Since its founding in 1988, it has served as a 'family reunion' for LGBTQ+ and ally legal professionals, combining professional development, advocacy, and community building over three days.
Main Program Components
- Career Fair: Connects LGBTQ+ candidates directly with LGBTQ+-friendly recruiters from law firms, government agencies, LGBTQ+ rights groups, and corporate legal departments. The 2025 fair drew over 400 law students and more than 200 law firms, nonprofits, and government agencies committed to diversity.
- Panels and Workshops: Sessions covering employment discrimination, family law, transgender rights, intersectionality of LGBTQ+ identities with other marginalized communities, landmark legal cases, and policy developments.
- Practice Area Institutes: Focused programming across legal practice areas.
- Judicial Programming: 'Nuts and Bolts' sessions for judicial professionals and aspiring judges.
- Queer Legal Scholarship Symposium: Academic forum for queer legal scholarship.
- Awards: Recognition of outstanding contributions to the LGBTQ+ legal community.

The event includes sponsorship opportunities for businesses and organizations, a Corporate Attendance program featuring an LGBTQ+ Workplace Best Practices Index, and virtual program offerings. The 2027 edition anticipates around 300 law students at the career fair alongside corporate counsel, legal professionals, and law students, making it the largest gathering of LGBTQ+ legal professionals in North America and a cornerstone event for networking, professional development, and advocacy.
