The 57th Migration Festival (Oct 15‑18, 2026) celebrates migration, heritage, nature conservation and the legacy of Jack Miner. Central to the festival is the Great Migration Paint Out, a four‑day plein‑air painting competition with three categories: Adult Competition (Oct 15‑17), Children & Youth Competition, and a two‑hour Quick Paint showdown on Oct 17 (10 am‑12 pm). All entries are displayed in the “Show and Sale” exhibition at the Grovedale Arts Culture Centre on Oct 18, where visitors can meet artists, purchase works, and vote for the People’s Choice Award (awards at 4 pm). Additional attractions include a Migration Market vendor fair (Oct 17, 10 am‑4 pm at Lakeside Park Pavilion), a parade (details pending), and programming at the Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary. The festival blends visual arts, local commerce, and wildlife education, offering music, finger foods, and a cash bar throughout the weekend.
