The announcement highlights the MSGBC region’s accelerating energy landscape and promotes the upcoming MSGBC Oil, Gas Power conference in Dakar (Dec 1‑3 2026). Key exhibits include the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) offshore LNG project—an bp/Kosmos Energy partnership delivering 2.5 Mt/yr LNG with a 500 MMcf/d FPSO arriving in June and a second phase slated for 2025. The Guinea LNG initiative, led by West Africa LNG Group, aims to supply 1,800 MW of gas‑fired power by Q1 2025. Regional power integration is showcased through the OMVG project, linking Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea‑Conakry and Guinea‑Bissau via the Sambangalou and Kalet hydro dams and cross‑border transmission lines, plus existing PPAs delivering up to 50 MW from Senegal to The Gambia until 2027. Additional collaboration includes a 2023 Gambia‑Ivory Coast energy accord.
