MITTE (Malaysia International Textile & Tourism Expo) is the rebranded continuation of the Malachi-Tex (Malaysia-China Textile Expo) series, which ran as Malachi-Tex 2024 (26-28 June 2024, Hall 1, MITEC) and Malachi-Tex 2025 (10-12 July 2025, Hall 1, MITEC). The official site of the series moved from malachi-tex.com (now closed) to www.mitte-my.com, and the expo is now positioned as Malaysia's first international expo integrating textiles, fashion, cultural tourism and the digital economy.

Scope

Textile supply chain, fabrics and accessories, yarn and fibres, home textiles, garment and apparel (including modest/Muslim fashion), leather goods, textile chemicals and machinery, plus cultural and creative crafts, tourism operators and international investment. The programme includes an exhibition, business matching, fashion shows, workshops, roundtables and a "Digital & Cultural Tourism Business Exchange".

Background

The soft launch and press conference was held on 2 September 2026 at the Melilea Grand Hall, Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur, with 87 confirmed guests including government agencies (Kraftangan Malaysia, MARA Inc.), MOTAC representatives, industry associations (MFMPA, MODA, MBHA) and foreign envoys; two MOAs were signed. Estimated turnout: about 150 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors.
