The Bavarian Anesthesia Days (Bayerische Anästhesietage, BAT) is the annual regional congress of the German Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (DGAI, Bavarian regional association) together with the Professional Association of German Anaesthetists (BDA, Bavarian regional association). In 2026 the congress takes place for the 55th time.

Programme highlights
- Friday 09.10.2026 – opening from 09:20 (SO 1 Begrüßung, Hörsaal 3); main sessions on prehabilitation, case presentations on mother and child, interprofessional updates, airway management workshops (fibreoptic awake intubation / eFONA), plus the keynote lecture "Zwischen Bewusstsein und Maschine: Wie KI und Neurotechnologie unser Verständnis des Menschen verändern" (12:45, Marcello Ienca).
- Saturday 10.10.2026 – sessions from 09:00 (Ambulantes Operieren, Schlaglichter) with pro/con debates on infection screening and ICU monitoring, "Notfallmedizin 2026" (reanimation update, sepsis in pre-hospital care, pre-hospital ultrasound) and the programme for residents in training; the day closes around 16:30.
Registration and fees
Registration is handled via the MCN participant management portal. Day passes and full congress passes are available (e.g. full pass for specialists EUR 200 for BDA/DGAI members, EUR 220 for non-members; residents in training EUR 180 / EUR 200; students free of charge). Workshops cost EUR 85 each, satellite symposia are free of charge.
