About
The Doctoral School Days 397 (JED 397) is an annual event organised by doctoral-student representatives. It brings together about 150–200 1st-, 2nd- and 3rd-year PhD students at the Cordeliers site of Sorbonne University. The two days include English oral presentations and poster sessions by 3rd-year PhD students, invited lectures, and a round table. The aim is to prepare 3rd-year doctoral students to present their thesis project in English to a non-expert audience (10-minute talk or poster). The days gather the physics and chemistry of materials community of Sorbonne University and are open to ED PhD students and supervisors, as well as masters students in physics and chemistry at SU and Paris-centre engineering schools. Prizes for oral presentations and posters are awarded at a closing festive event.
