Tip for visitors: Arrive early to find parking, get a good spot, and enjoy the day before it gets crowded. The Lodi Street Faire is a big street market that happens twice a year. It takes up many blocks of downtown and has more than 450 vendors. You can walk around and see antiques, handmade arts and crafts, and all kinds of retail items. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the day of the fair. Bring a small bag or backpack to carry what you buy. Wear comfortable shoes because you will walk a lot. If you have kids, bring a stroller or a wagon to carry things and a small cooler for drinks if allowed. Keep a meeting spot in mind in case your group gets separated. Remember to bring cash and a card. Some vendors take only cash, and others accept cards. Take pictures of items you like so you can compare and decide before you buy.
There are many food choices to try while you are at the fair. You can eat hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages, tri-tip, and different kinds of ethnic food like Mexican and Filipino dishes. Don’t forget to try sweet treats and cold drinks to cool off. For parking, there is a free parking garage that fills up fast, so look for street parking outside the barricades if the garage is full.
