Highly-functional Material Week Tokyo
Highly-functional Material Week is Japan's largest exhibition for advanced materials and technologies, organised by RX Japan GK. The next Tokyo edition is scheduled for 27-29 October 2027 (Wed-Fri) at Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan; the organiser has not yet published opening hours for the 2027 show.
The show covers the full spectrum of advanced materials: high-performance resins, films, raw materials, additives and composite materials; plastics technologies including moulding, processing machinery and recycling; functional films for electronics, automotive design, construction, pharmaceuticals and food packaging; advanced metals for electronics, aerospace, automotive and medical devices; technical ceramics, 3D printing and precision manufacturing; joining and bonding technologies; paint and coating; sustainable materials and recycling; and materials analysis, evaluation and testing equipment.
Digital, AI and concurrent programmes include the Material DX Expo (materials informatics, process informatics, chemical management software and sales/inventory management), the AI Semiconductor Material World (advanced package substrates, encapsulation and reinforcement, high-speed and low-loss materials), Mobility Materials Expo, Photonix (optical and laser technologies), FINETECH JAPAN (LCD, OLED, quantum dot and micro LED display technologies), Recycle Tech Japan, the Extreme Heat Countermeasures EXPO and Dry Tech - Next-Generation Drying Process Expo.

The 2026 Tokyo edition was held 30 September - 2 October 2026 (the 17th Highly-functional Material Week) and welcomed 36,231 visitors over three days: 9,881 on 30 September, 11,713 on 1 October and 14,637 on 2 October. The organiser's forecast for the 2026 Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya shows combined was 2,130 exhibitors, 107,000 visitors, 145 conference sessions and 51 countries and regions.
