About Africa Rail 2028

Africa Rail is Africa’s largest and most established rail event, combining a B2B conference and exhibition for rail operators, end-users, government and investors. The 2028 edition takes place 27–28 June 2028 at Gallagher Convention Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa (19 Richards Drive, Halfway House, Midrand, 1685).

Built on 27 years of history, the event is the meeting place for customers doing business in rail, freight and transport. The conference hosts 150+ industry speakers; the exhibition showcases innovators across the rail industry.

Who attends

Attendees include rail and transport authorities, operators and infrastructure managers, government and regulators, engineering and construction firms, technology providers, investors and consultants, and freight and logistics experts. The event is not open to the public; registered industry professionals only (no one under 21).

Opening hours

Conference and exhibition: 09:00–17:00 both days. Sessions are in English.
