About the exhibition

PharmaTECH Kazakhstan is Kazakhstan's international exhibition of equipment, ingredients and technologies for the pharmaceutical industry. It is held annually in Almaty and runs on the same "Atakent" IEC campus as KIHE (Kazakhstan International Healthcare Exhibition) and VisionCare, forming a single healthcare-industry platform. The 4th edition takes place 19–21 May 2027; the previous editions were held on 20–22 May 2026 (3rd) and in May 2025 (2nd).

Market context (organiser's stated focus for 2027)

The Kazakh pharmaceutical sector is moving from rapid growth into structural transformation. Drivers highlighted by the organiser include the introduction of 5% VAT on pharmaceuticals and medical devices from 1 January 2026, the transition to market-based pricing for a large share of medicines, and accelerated localisation (domestic production share above 50%, with a shift towards high-tech R&D and original drugs). Domestic production in 2025 exceeded KZT 150 billion, with more than 190 manufacturing sites operating in the country and 100% mandatory labelling and traceability introduced by 2026.

Figures

The 2026 joint edition of KIHE, PharmaTECH Kazakhstan and VisionCare (20–22 May 2026, Almaty) reported more than 5,600 professional visitors and 400 companies from 24 countries.
