Godwit Days Spring Migration Bird Festival

The Godwit Days Spring Migration Bird Festival is held each April in Arcata, California. The next edition is April 15–18, 2027, with keynote speaker Scott Weidensaul on Saturday, April 17, 2027 at 7 p.m.

Come celebrate the Marbled Godwit and explore the lush Redwood Coast while learning about birds, wildlife, native plants, and local ecosystems through field trips, lectures, and workshops led by experienced local guides. Tours cover mudflats, wild river valleys, and the rocky ocean coast of the Klamath bioregion in northwest California.

Indoor activities take place at Arcata Community Center and Exhibit Hall. The 4th annual Big Sit! (free, with Redwood Region Audubon Society) is Sunday, April 18, 2027 at the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center.

Godwit Days has run for more than 30 years. Registration covers field trips and workshops (full multi-day, one-day, community, and child passes). Contact: [email protected] / (707) 826-7050. Seasonal office: 839 9th St., Arcata, CA 95521.

Related summer birding: Birding on the Madaket boat tours (Humboldt Bay) are separate special events, not the April festival.
