Saxon Timber Construction Day 2027
The Saxon Timber Construction Day (Sächsischer Holzbautag) is a two-day specialist conference with an accompanying trade exhibition for the timber-construction industry of central and eastern Germany. The 5th edition will take place on 22-23 April 2027 at Messe Dresden, Dresden, Germany.
The event is organised by the Holzbau Kompetenzzentrum Sachsen (HKS GmbH) in cooperation with the Architektenkammer Sachsen, the Ingenieurkammer Sachsen and EIPOS GmbH, and is regarded as one of the most important industry events in central and eastern Germany. It brings together architects, engineers, construction companies, researchers and public and private clients.
The conference programme addresses fire protection in timber construction, sound insulation, circular construction, building in existing structures, and sustainable and affordable building with timber; the 4th edition (23-24 April 2026) opened with a keynote by Prof. Dr. Richard David Precht. A supporting trade exhibition (Fachausstellung) runs alongside the conference, where companies present products, services and innovations; three booth sizes are offered, with power supply, electricity consumption and Wi-Fi included in the stand price.
Ticket sales for the 2027 edition open in autumn 2026, and exhibitor registration also opens in autumn 2026. Participant numbers are limited, and the event is recognised as continuing professional development by the chambers of architects and engineers of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia, Berlin and Brandenburg.
