Royal Wedding of Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling
Sweden is preparing for the highly anticipated wedding of Crown Princess Victoria, 32, to her former personal trainer, Daniel Westling. Billed as the biggest royal event in Europe since the 1981 wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer, the ceremony is estimated to cost $2.6 million.
Wedding Festivities
- Ceremony: Taking place at the newly refurbished Stockholm Cathedral in Gamla Stan.
- Procession: The couple will travel by horse-drawn carriage through the city streets.
- Reception: A royal barge will transport them across the harbor to the Royal Palace for an evening banquet featuring fireworks.

The Couple
The Yale-educated bride previously worked at the U.N. and has dated Westling for eight years. Westling, a commoner who owns a chain of gyms, hails from a small village and has reportedly undergone intensive grooming for his new royal role. The wedding date also marks the 34th wedding anniversary of Victoria's parents, King Carl XVI Gustav and Queen Silvia.
