The 74th Annual Bridgewater Country Fair is a beloved community tradition in Bridgewater, Connecticut, run by the local volunteer fire department. The fairgrounds fill with food tents serving roast beef sandwiches, slow-cooked chicken, fresh buttery corn, tacos, ice cream, fried dough, BBQ and fried Oreos — all prepared by volunteer firefighters and EMS members. Visitors enjoy rides, a parade of area fire companies, live entertainment and family activities. Admission is affordable with free parking, and the fair is the primary fundraiser for the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department, the last self-sustaining fire department in the State of Connecticut.
