Quiet Adventures Society Symposium

The Quiet Adventures Society (QAS) hosts an annual symposium promoting non-motorized outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship. QAS 2026 features multiple activity zones.

• Paddling Film Festival: Showcase of kayaking, canoeing, and water sports films
• Youth Activities: Cycling club participation, bike safety rodeo, and outdoor skill-building for young adventurers
• Exhibitors and Sponsorships: Outdoor gear vendors featuring bikes, kayaks, knives, axes, and paddling equipment from sponsors like DALMAC, TCBA, Denny's Bikes, Giant Mouse, and The Power of Water
• Speakers and Demonstrations: Presentations on backcountry cooking, paddling techniques, and adventure storytelling including Verlen Kruger Award recipient Peter Frank
• Water Trails Education: Information on Michigan's 3,000+ miles of water trails including Upper Grand River, Lower Grand River, Huron River Water Trail, and Kalamazoo Water Trail

The event encourages participation in cycling, paddling, hiking, and cross-country skiing while promoting environmental conservation. The society is actively recruiting board members and volunteers to ensure long-term success. A leadership transition is underway following Board President Cynthia Donovan's resignation.
