We can now take a look back at our 93rd National Honey Show and enjoy what we accomplished in Sandown Park, October 2024.
I was unsure how we could compete with the record-breaking 100th anniversary show in 2023, but you all rose up to the challenge by submitting over 2,500 exhibits. This is a record for all time! Well done.
I am amazed at anyone who attempts class 16, which is a decorative display that can be as high as five stories. This year we had two outstanding entries. The window displays in the shops really stole all of the attention. The standard was so high. All of you who took part deserve a big thank-you. It was intended to be a one-off event for our centenary, but I think it's going to become a regular part of the schedule.
Sheila Collins Deacon of Incorporation of Edinburgh Candlemakers opened the show. We were thrilled to have her as our Guest of Honor. Sheila Collins presented a new trophy to the show for our children's class for a pair rolled candles. She also presented trophies during our prize-giving ceremony.
