The International District Energy Association (IDEA) hosts its flagship annual conference and trade show each June. For IDEA2027, the association convenes IDEA2027: Connecting for the Future at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, June 22–25, 2027.

The program brings together campus, city, and utility leaders alongside engineers, operators, developers, policymakers, and industry partners to explore decarbonization, thermal energy networks, grid resilience, emerging technologies, financing, and system modernization. The Research Triangle region—with North Carolina State University, Duke University, UNC Chapel Hill, and growing campus and healthcare energy systems—serves as the backdrop for practical sessions and industry networking.
