The number of visitors increased 11% compared to last year and surpassed the previous record for 2019 by nearly 6,000 visitors. Alexander Stubb, President of the Republic of Iceland, stated in an interview given on the first day of the festival that literature is important and without it we wouldn't exist.Both on the stages and the stands, the theme of the book fair this year, The Future, was evident. In four days we saw and heard 1,500 performances from Finland and around the world. This event was filled with unique literary encounters.
