The BMW Dallas Marathon is a nonprofit race series founded in 1971, featuring Dallas’ longest marathon and a variety of weekend events. Core race categories include a full marathon, half marathon, 50K ultra‑marathon, relay races, 10K, 5K, a 5K team challenge, the Friday Night Lights Mile, and multiple kids’ races. The event takes place the second Sunday of December, with the 2026 edition scheduled for December 11‑13. Key partners and sponsors span title partners (BMW, Oncor), official healthcare providers, footwear brands, broadcast partners, grocers, and other official partners. Since 1997 the marathon’s primary beneficiary has been Scottish Rite for Children, to which it has donated over $4.5 million. Registration opens May 1, 2026, and the marathon draws tens of thousands of spectators who line the city’s neighborhoods and landmarks to support participants.
