J & J Fairs - About Us
All of our Toy & Train Collector's Fairs have been held with the aim to offer a high-quality service at a reasonable price. We set high standards for ourselves and take great pride in each Toy & Train Collector's Fair that we promote. All venues are carefully chosen to reflect these standards. We all hope, as a family-run business, that a J & J Toy & Train Collector's Fair will be a fun event for everyone involved.
Julie and John Webb started promoting Toy Collector's Fairs in 1987, on a chilly Monday night in Bailgate in Lincoln. The Toy Fair was a huge success. Customers lined up as far as they could see. Julie and John then searched all over the country for the best venues to hold their fairs. Julie and John, working with Dave Jowett in 1990, promoted the major Toy Collector's Fairs across the country, including the largest fair in Europe at the Birmingham NEC. In 2003, they sold their shares to Dave to focus their efforts on J & J Fairs. In the past 30 years, their portfolio has grown to include many venues in England. The size of the tables ranges from 40-350. Top traders as well as the public have supported the Toy Fairs.
David (John's Son) ran the Toy Collector's Fairs for J & J Fairs for 20 years. He stepped down in January 2015 to begin a new life with his family in Australia. His sister Lorraine assumed the role of Event Manager. Lorraine has been attending Toy Collector's Fairs for many years. She first attended in 1979 with her father, John. They had a stall and have kept up-to-date in some way ever since.
