Madison's National Landmark Historic District hosts thousands of visitors each year during the two-day Madison Chautauqua Festival of Art. Experience Southern Indiana's largest outdoor arts and crafts festival, featuring 175 exhibitors. The festival is open to all and free for everyone to attend. Pets are not allowed.
The festival includes live entertainment throughout the day, as well as a food festival on the riverfront, activities for children, and a garden of entertainment with craft beer and local wine.
The Madison Chautauqua Festival of Art, a non profit organization, operates under Visit Madison, Inc. Since its founding in 1965, a committee of coordinators and volunteers has worked tirelessly to make sure that this festival offers something for everyone. Together with them, City of Madison staff and the Mayor of Madison, along with hundreds of volunteers work to make the Chautauqua Weekend a success.
