DreamHack is a gaming lifestyle festival, but its roots lie in the Bring Your Own Computer LAN parties. Since 2001, we've been hosting large-scale LAN events where you could bring your own computer to play games all weekend.
In 1994, schoolmates in the Swedish village of Malung embarked on an unusual venture. In the basement of an elementary school, they created a private space where they could trade discs and exchange insights on computer programming.
