The first SMCBA Conference was held in 1989. The 35th SMCBA Electronics Design and Manufacture Conference, which will take place concurrently with Electronex, is being held over thirty years after the first conference.

David Bergman, Vice-President of Standards & Technology at IPC, will deliver the keynote address this year entitled "Digitalization of Electronics Manufacturing - Towards Smart Factory Enabling Industry 4.0". Mike Creeden, Rick Hartley, and Chris Turner, both from Redback, are experts in PCB design.
